Premature Holds Cast and Crew Screening in Glasgow

Sonorous Films hosted a private cast and crew screening of its debut feature Premature on Thursday evening at the Grosvenor Picture Theatre in Glasgow.

The screening marked the first time the completed romantic comedy has been shown to the full team behind the production.

Set and shot in Glasgow, Premature is a contemporary Scottish romantic comedy that follows two flatmates navigating an unexpected pregnancy after a one-night stand.

Writer, director and producer Kevin Walls introduced the screening, thanking those involved in bringing the project to completion: “No matter what capacity you were involved in the film, we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you, so thank you very much.”

Elle Watson, who plays Eilidh in the film, said: “Making this film was genuinely one of the best summers I’ve ever had in my life. It just felt like a bunch of people, that I became really close to, that I’ve had such great shared experiences with.”

The screening provided an early opportunity to gauge audience response in a theatrical setting.

Supporting actor Jamie Cooper-Higgins praised the film’s humour, its production value, and noted: “You don’t see enough of these stories being told in a Scottish way.”

Martha McKay of Martha May & the Mondays, whose track ‘Touch Me’ features in the film, said: “It was hilarious, everyone was laughing the whole way through, and then at the end there were dark moments that really took you by surprise.”

Sonorous Films is targeting a theatrical release in autumn 2026, with further details on screenings and distribution to be announced in the coming months.
